Britains Got Talent act revealed secret about Alesha Dixon in awkward live blunder

NEWS

Britain’s Got Talent act accidentally revealed a huge secret about one of the judges during Friday’s live semi-final.

It had to do with one of the show’s judges, Alesha Dixon, who was left embarrassed by his words.

It turns out that magician Trixy revealed more than just his tricks, showcasing a number of cool, mind-bending tasks in the fifth live show this week, trying to book his place in the Britain’s Got Talent final on Sunday.

His performance included using Amanda Holden’s mobile phone, and correctly guessing what time Bruno Tonioli woke up in the morning, using a calculator.

Judge Alesha Dixon also performed that night, as part of a stacked line-up of acts for the semi-finals, performing her hit mash-up on stage.

There weren’t just BGT acts on stage that night though, with the cast of Frozen the musical, the cast of The Lion King and the cast of brand new musical Romeo & Juliet putting on a show.

But Alesha’s return to the stage signalled her return to the music game, following the release of new single ‘Ransom’, as well as a music video to go with it.

Trixy also went to Alesha for her specific number, guessing how many people she thought were sat with them in the Hammersmith Apollo theatre that night.

However, he then asked how she was feeling, and let slip that the judge had pre-recorded her musical performance for the show.

The magician complimented the judge, saying: “Alesha, lovely performance by the way.”

Alesha giggled awkwardly, thanking him, but viewers of the show will have realised that she hadn’t actually performed yet on their screens, as she would later take to the stage to perform ‘Ransom’, in a pre-recorded part of the show.

Eagle-eyed viewers will have spotted the ‘live’ sign on screen disappear when Alesha’s performance came up, confirming people’s initial thoughts.

Viewers took to social media to talk about Trixy’s comment though, as it didn’t go unnoticed.

One X user said: “There was me thinking Trixy was a time traveller when congratulated Alesha on her performance but then the time Amanda goes to sleep was too random a number to be random. Show looks to be like the critics say, not Live.”

Another put: “The magician giving away that Alesha has pre-recorded her performance #BGT #BritainsGotTalent”

A third posted: “I’m crying at this magician saying “nice performance Alesha!” to Alesha Dixon who is… performing ‘live at the end of the show’ the realisation was excruciatingly awkward”

In Alesha’s new song, she samples Jamaican reggae artist Ini Kamoze’s track Here Comes The Hotstepper, which comes nine years after her last album was released.

She expanded on why she used this sample, saying: “I wanted a sample that was super familiar. Known and loved by all races, I wanted to fuse my commercial persona with my roots, the music I grew up on and still love that is such a big part of who I am.

“Being in Jamaica feels like home and it has both a spiritual calm as well as a bass line thumping around every corner!”
